HAMA History
HAMA was initiated by group of six hotel asset managers who held their first organized meeting back in late 1991. The original six asset managers served each other as a support and information sharing group in order to enhance the value of their hotels. Eventually, after forming as a formal non-profit association, the organization, through its meetings, served to provide a united front to the much larger branded hotel companies. In 1992 the original six combined with an additional nine asset managers across the country created the organization’s Charter membership. The membership has grown steadily since to its current 200 count. Through its members presence at HAMA meetings and industry events as well as having established a strong networking and educational foundation the organization continues to further advance its stated purpose to promote the enhancement of hotel asset values.
